What we keep
- My setup links
- When you press Copy link for your helper, we save what the page shows (browser, device, screen, settings and the technical details) so whoever opens the link can see it. Deleted 90 days after you make it. We don't save your IP address with it.
- Sent from PageKiwi for Chrome
- When you press Send in the extension, we save the screenshot it showed you, your note, the page's address and title, the list of problems the extension found on it, any error messages the page reported after you clicked the kiwi, and your browser, screen and zoom. Anyone with the link can see them. Deleted 90 days after you press Send. The extension sends nothing until you press Send or open one of its More checks.
- Reports
- For every check: the address of the page checked, the problems found, and the browser and screen you checked from. Picture Check reports also keep a small copy of each problem picture, and the smaller versions of heavy photos it made for you. Anyone with the report's link can read it. Deleted 90 days after the check.
- Scan log
- For each check: the time, the page asked for, whether it ran and what it found, and the browser and device it ran from. It helps us see what's working and spot abuse. Never your IP address; each visitor is a code that changes every day. Each line is deleted after 90 days.
- Pictures and Claude
- The Alt text writer, and Picture Check for up to 6 pictures a page, send a picture (shrunk to 1024 pixels) to Anthropic, the company that makes Claude, to describe it. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, pictures sent this way aren't used to train its models. We keep the words Claude wrote, filed under a scrambled code made from the picture, so the same picture isn't sent twice: at most 5,000 of them, each deleted after 90 days. The Alt text writer keeps nothing else; Picture Check keeps the small report copies above.
- Site Watch
- Your email address and the website you asked us to watch, until you click stop in any of our emails (or never confirm, when we delete them after 7 days). Used only for those emails.
- Whole-site checks and "send it tomorrow"
- The email address you give us, only until the report is sent to it. If you never confirm, we delete it after 2 hours for a whole-site check, or a day for "send it tomorrow". The report itself is kept 90 days, like any other.
- Contact form
- Your message and email address are emailed to us and not kept on this site. We use your address only to reply.
- Ideas: votes and suggestions
- When you press "I'd use this", we add one to that idea's count and keep a scrambled code made from your IP address, not the address itself, so you can't count twice. The code is deleted after 90 days; the count stays. Ideas you suggest are emailed to us and not kept on this site, with your email address if you give one, used only to reply.
- Daily limits
- To stop abuse we count how many checks each visitor makes a day. We store a scrambled code made from your IP address and the date, not the address itself, and delete the counts after two days.
- Server logs
- Our web host keeps ordinary server logs (IP address, time, page asked for), as every web host does, for security.
What we don't do
No cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no fonts or scripts from other companies. Color check, Readability, Shrink a photo and QR code work entirely on your own computer. Nothing on these pages is sent anywhere until you press a button that says it will. Report and setup links aren't listed anywhere and search engines are told not to read them.
