pagekiwi.com

You're on version 1.5. It's at the foot of every page.

1.5, Oct 7, 2026
  • Every check accepts web addresses with accented letters, like münchen.de.
  • When a page won't load, the checks say why (an expired padlock, a redirect loop, a server error, or a site that turned us away) instead of asking whether the address is right. Email check says when a domain doesn't exist, and Google and share preview says when an address isn't a web page.
  • Link Check no longer reports links as going nowhere on very long pages: it says it read the first 2 MB and skips links further down. Full Check reads each page once instead of four times, so it's quicker and gentler on your site.
  • Site health follows redirects before reading your page's settings, no longer warns about "www" for addresses like shop.example.com, and doesn't score safety settings when your home page didn't load. Screen sizes says when a page answers with an error.
  • Whole-site Link Check no longer checks your home page twice, and "Show me on the page" opens the page where each problem is. Reports don't offer "Show me" for grouped problems.
  • Signing up for Site Watch again no longer stops your current watch until you confirm the new one.
  • Pressing Scan with an empty box asks for an address. Readability no longer breaks on text with no words. Color check clears old suggestions when a color isn't valid. QR code says when an address is too long for a code. Alt text writer explains when it can't open a photo.
  • Long website names no longer push headings off the side of a phone screen.
  • A new Ideas page: what's on the way, ideas we're weighing with an "I'd use this" button, and a form to suggest your own. It's linked from the foot of every page.
1.4, Oct 7, 2026
  • Share pages always say a visitor sent them and PageKiwi didn't check what they say.
  • Site health, Email check, Google and share preview and Screen sizes fill in an address from another website's link but wait for you to press the button.
  • Site Watch emails have a one-click unsubscribe, and the stop link opens a page with a Stop button. Whole-site Link Check requests you don't confirm expire after 2 hours.
  • Email check sends only the part after the @ to our server.
  • Errors in Site health, Email check, Google preview and Screen sizes are announced to screen readers and point to the box that needs fixing.
  • Favicon maker says when it's done, and each Save link names its file. Color check keeps your place after "Use". Screen sizes has a "Skip past the previews" link.
  • Accessibility Check's count of rules is right: 13.
  • Tidier behind the scenes: www.pagekiwi.com goes to pagekiwi.com, private confirm pages are left out of the sitemap, and the add-on screenshots are cached longer.
1.3, Oct 7, 2026
Our test town Wrenfield moved to wrenfield.pagekiwi.com. Old links still take you there.
1.2, Oct 7, 2026
The changelog now covers the website too, linked from the foot of every page, with the website's version number beside it. "About our checker" is now "How we check", and Contact moved to the end of the footer.
1.1, Oct 7, 2026
  • Reports, share links and their screenshots are now deleted 90 days after they're made, as our privacy page says. Before, they stopped showing after 90 days but stayed on our server.
  • Confirm emails (Site Watch, whole-site Link Check, and checks we send the next day) now open a page with a Confirm button. Some email systems open every link in a message to scan it, which could confirm something you never asked for.
  • A link to one of our checks from another website fills in the address but waits for you to press Scan, so nobody can use up your 10 checks a day without you knowing.
  • On Site health, Email check, Google and share preview, Screen sizes and Alt text writer, screen readers now hear when results arrive, and keyboard users are taken to them. On the scan tools, Site Watch and whole-site Link Check, error messages point to the box that needs fixing. Readability marks hard words and long sentences with lines and words, not only color.
  • Clearer facts: How we check gives the real size limits, the report guide uses the same labels reports do ("Fix first" and "When you can"), times are in Eastern time, and every guide lists its sources.
  • Add-on pages load about half the weight, with smaller screenshots.
1.0, Oct 7, 2026
PageKiwi rebuilt from scratch: Full Check, Link Check, Picture Check, Facts Check, Accessibility Check, Site health, Site Watch, Email check, Screen sizes, Google and share preview, eight small tools and about 30 guides.

PageKiwi for Chrome

Version 0.5.2 is waiting for the Chrome Web Store's review; the download on our Chrome page is always the newest.

0.5.3, Oct 7, 2026
Screen readers hear when your link is ready after Send, and keyboard focus moves to Copy link. Problems are named "No alt text" like our other add-ons. Clearer wording about what Send uploads.
0.5.2, Oct 7, 2026
Plainer advice: fixes that need a change to the page's code start with "Ask your web person to…", and terms like alt text are explained the first time.
0.5.1, Oct 7, 2026
Safer link tests: links are tested without your login, as a visitor would see them. Nothing is tested on admin pages, and links whose address looks like it logs out, deletes or changes something are skipped, so a check doesn't act as you. The Mac shortcut is shown.
0.5.0, Oct 7, 2026
A progress bar while it checks. Each problem is one line you open for the details. You can send the results to your web person straight after a check, and the link shows the problems found. If Chrome won't allow a screenshot, it sends without one. The panel is quieter, with the extra views tucked away.
0.4.2, Oct 7, 2026
No more error message when Chrome reloads the extension.
0.4.1, Oct 7, 2026
The results say how many problems there are and how many to fix first, like "9 problems, 4 to fix first".
0.4.0, Oct 7, 2026
Checks links and pictures on the page too: missing and heavy pictures, phone and email links that don't work, links to parts of the page that aren't there, http links on an https site, leftover test addresses, and dead, moved and "not found" links to your own site.
0.3.3, Oct 7, 2026
Screen readers hear the result once, not twice.
0.3.2, Oct 7, 2026
The keyboard shortcut is now Ctrl+Shift+Y (⌘+Shift+Y on a Mac), because the old one switched keyboard layouts on Linux.
0.3.1, Oct 7, 2026
Screen readers hear the result when a check finishes, and Show me moves keyboard focus to the problem on the page, so you can carry on from there with Tab. Buttons keep keyboard focus while they're busy.
0.3.0, Oct 7, 2026
A keyboard shortcut, Alt+Shift+K, opens the panel and checks the page you're on.
0.2.0, Oct 7, 2026
Send it to your web person: a screenshot (shown to you first), the page's error messages, your browser and screen, and your note, in one link.
0.1.0, Oct 7, 2026
First version: an accessibility check in plain English with Show me, and the page as keyboard, color-blind and 200% zoom users meet it.

PageKiwi for WordPress

The download on our WordPress page is always the newest version. Version 0.3.0 is waiting for WordPress.org's review; 0.3.3 will go with our reply.

0.3.3, Oct 7, 2026
Links to websites that no longer exist are reported again (0.3.1 and 0.3.2 missed them). Fewer false alarms: linked pictures whose alt text has an apostrophe, phone links written with %20 for spaces, file names like logo@2x.png taken for email addresses, and dev.to taken for a test site. Links to addresses inside the server's own network, like 169.254.169.254, count as leftover test addresses and are never asked. On servers that can't look up domain names, email links are no longer all reported as broken. The check stops asking websites after 25 seconds, so a few slow ones can't make it time out. Check this page lists Fix first problems first. On multisite, settings only the network's administrator can change say to ask them, and uninstalling removes the saved results from every site. The alt text boxes fit on phone screens, and the screen mirrors properly in right-to-left languages.
0.3.2, Oct 7, 2026
Links to pagekiwi.com say they open in a new tab. Screen readers hear when Check my site finishes.
0.3.1, Oct 7, 2026
Safer link checks: every request goes through WordPress's own safe request functions, on the usual web ports only, and says it's PageKiwi for WordPress. "No description" is now "No alt text", so it isn't mixed up with the Description box in the Media Library. Each picture's Save button says which picture it saves, for screen readers. Result headings are in order, and "Couldn't save" is no longer shown in green. The "Not secure" finding says when to ask your web person.
0.3.0, Oct 7, 2026
More checks: dead links to other websites, moved links, pictures that don't load or load over http, email addresses whose domain can't get email, tables without headers, embedded maps and videos without a title, and pages that give different phone numbers or emails.
0.2.1, Oct 7, 2026
The steps use WordPress's current button names, like Save and Add Plugin.
0.2.0, Oct 7, 2026
A "Check this page" button in the admin bar while you look at your own site (administrators only). Each alt text box names its picture's file for screen readers.
0.1.0, Oct 7, 2026
First version: settings, pictures, links and headings, with alt text you can fill in straight from the list, and a box on the dashboard.

PageKiwi for Drupal

The download on our Drupal page is always the newest version.

1.0.0-beta1, not released yet
The first version, for Drupal 10.3 and 11, ready on our Drupal page and soon on drupal.org. It checks Drupal's settings (maintenance mode, errors shown to visitors, cron, updates, the default favicon, open sign-up, a user called "admin", https), images, links, facts that differ between pages, and headings, at Reports, PageKiwi, plus a "Check this page" tab on each page.

Changes while we tested it, Oct 7, 2026:

  • Fixed a crash on Drupal 11's newer releases when a site had a photo over 500 KB, and moved off functions Drupal 11 is dropping.
  • "Check this page" now lists the page's link problems too, and can't be started by a link from another site (its link carries a security token).
  • Text is checked as visitors see it, after its text format's filters, so tags in a plain-text field don't count, and images that "Restrict images to this site" swaps for a red error icon are reported.
  • Links to other websites are checked by reading only the reply's headers, for 20 seconds at most in all, and a link only counts as dead when a second request agrees, since some sites answer the first check wrongly.
  • Link checks refuse private and internal addresses and unusual ports, and follow redirects only to public addresses.
  • Links to localhost, 127.0.0.1, [::1], 169.254.x, or dev. and staging. copies of your own site count as leftover test addresses; other people's sites, like dev.to, don't.
  • Problem names follow your admin theme's colors. Uninstalling removes the saved results. The code meets Drupal's coding standards.
